Dear BITIG readers,

We think you also used to get late BITIG issues as we do. We are only publishing it if we have
financial means, actually which was the case from the beginning on. Anyway, we are again with
you after six months.
The Caucasian and Turkish peoples lost three important leaders last year. We have mentioned the
leader of West-Thracian Turks Sadik Ahmet on our last issue. In december 1995, the leader of
Eastern Turkestan Isa Yusuf Alptekin has passed away. Chechen peoples brave son, Red armies
nightmare, Eagle of Caucasus President Djovchar Dudaev was killed in frontline. Dik wu
Djovchar, Marsh Ayl!
In this issue, we concentrate on the peoples of Isa Yusuf Alptekin bey, and Djovchar Dudaev. For
president Djovchar Dudaev a condolence page is opened in our Turkish World homepage in
Internet. You can find the reactions to death of Djovchar Dudaev in these pages. We have made
for this issue of BITIG selections from these reactions.

Another important issue is Eastern Turkestan. SOTA arranged a conference about Eastern
Turkestan in March 14th. in Haarlem. These conference was a joint activity with Greenpeace
Holland since it was about Chinese nuclear tests in Eastern Turkestan. It draw considerable
attention from the many parts of the World. Chingiz Aytmatov, greatest writer of Turksih
World, has done the opening speech. We are grateful to him. A report about this conference and
Erkin Alptekin's contribution are in the coming pages. In this issue we have famous analysts and
writers among us.
Paul Henze, specialist on Central Asia and Caucasus, has also an article about Eastern Turkestan.

We just had about our Internet Home page of Turkish World. In these pages some articles of
BITIG are also placed. These Turkish World pages draw a lot of attention and are visited up to
now, more than 5.000 times.

Another colourful personality that joined us in this issue is the Belgium writer Bruno de Cordier.
Mr. Cordier is in this issue present with his interesting article about the latest developements in the
Republic of Saha. (Yakutya).
We hope to prepared you a more interesting BITIG with this issue.
For our dutch readers the redaction has decided to reduce the publication languages. So we are not
more publishing in Dutch, but only in Turkish and English. We send also a pay check and we
expect your financial contribution for BITIG.
For our readers outside Holland who did not have paid we are posting for the last time, for those
who have not paid or not showed any reaction or interest we stop sending.
