YULDUZ USMANOVA

Kaschgar - Samarkand - Taschkent: Yulduz Usmanova is a new jewel of the famous silk road from Istanbul to Peking. "The stage is a display of oriental art for me", says the usbekian singer Yulduz Usmanova, who has sold 5 Million records in her homeland. The 27-year- old graduate from the Oriental Music Department at Taschkent Conservatory has written all her songs by herself. They are based on her studies about the songs of the rural villages. Her performances are enriched by two oriental dancing girls. Modern sounds, in the symbiosis with traditional instruments of her home country, are an important part of her compositions which have made her to the "Star of the nation". The countless influences of Asian culture are widespread and become especially apparent in her live performances.
